How is a flamecat enamel made?

If you have ordered a baby print, you will receive an in the post to take your little one's prints. It is an easy, safe and clean way of taking really good prints for me to use.

If you have ordered a child's drawing, read the carefully and then send the drawing to me by post or e-mail.

Once I have received your image, it is processed using computer graphic software.
The image is not altered but clarified and enhanced to improve the quality of the finished product.

Enamel (powdered glass) is sifted onto a copper shape to create a coloured layer.
Traditional enamelling techniques are used to apply the image to the copper in several layers.

The copper is placed in a red hot kiln for a few seconds until the enamel is molten.
As the enamel cools it fuses onto the copper and has an opaque, glassy appearance.

The colours are bright, vibrant and will never fade.

Your enamel is mounted onto a handmade, bespoke wooden frame.
It is then carefully packaged for you to collect or is delivered to you by post.
